Luke Works the Excavator at the Playground

Cool-to-cold when the sun went behind this morning's big, puffy clouds, warm when it peeked though.

Everywhere we go--like this morning, and last night's after-dinner-almost-full-moon-walk with Daddy and Newton--I've been telling the kids, "Look for green leaves on the trees. Any day now we'll see them."

"That's a sign of spring," Luke says this morning, in the car on the way to the park.

"Yes, Buddy, that's exactly right."

"Uncle Luke was an architect," Zo says, completely off topic. (This is how our conversations go these days.)

"Yes, he was," I say, wondering how she knows that. I don't remember telling her, although I may have at one point.

"Yes," she says. "He got in an accident. And then he got off his motorcycle and went to Heaven."

There's been a lot of talk about Uncle Luke lately. I've been thinking about him a lot, too. He would love that we're going to Steamboat. It's something he would do...

XOXO
