Kid Cuteness April 29th, 2015

Me to Zo, who is sitting in the hallway with her back turned. "Zo, sweetie, what are you doing?"

Zo: "I put myself in time out."

"Why?"

"I pulled the tablecloth off the table."

Luke at breakfast: "Mommy, I need stuck juice."

Me: "What are you talking about? I don't understand."

Luke: "Like Papa has in the freezer." (Papa puts juice in cups and freezes it to eat like a popsicle.)

Me: "Oh, yeah, I get it."

(I read somewhere recently that every kid is a poet and this comment kind of epitomizes that for me. The kids see/explain their world in such a unique way.)

Luke: "Do I need a map to get to Heaven?"

Me: "No. You know, people think different things, but I think your Uncle Luke will come and show you the way when it's time to go to Heaven. When you're very old, though, Buddy. Not for a while, OK?"

Luke: "Do dogs go to dog Heaven? And pigs go to pig Heaven?"

Luke and Zo, about their new barn and farm animals (the cow is named Scotty, by the way): "Our animals are eating cereal and green beans!"

Zo, lauching and running as the Roomba is turned on: "It's the Roomba! Run for your lives!"

Me, making cookies with the kids: "Luke you have to give me a lick of your beater before you can have it."

Luke: "No!" (Plus a temper tantrum.)

Me: "OK, it's let Mommy have a lick or no beater."

Luke: "No beater!"

Uncle Ben came to visit last weekend and stayed in his camper with 2 friends. We went (with permission) to wake him up in the morning.

"You know there's a beast in the back," Ben said to them (about one of his sleeping friends."

"We want to see the BEAST!!! Both the kids said, no fear at all.

And they peeked carefully into the back and saw it was Ben's friend. "That's not a beast!," they said laughing.

Love how brave they are...

Zo has been picking and bringing me flowers at every opportunity.

Luke wants to snuggle at every opportunity, especially at night and in the morning in his bed.

Luke found a quarter out and about the other day. Papa let him put it in the slot machine and he won 5 quarters. He's been carrying them around with him ever since. "Grammy, what's a quarter for?" he asked. Interesting to see a time when money holds no sway...

Luke, frantic, after Papa waled out the door yesterday evening to play poker: "Wait, Papa can't go yet, I haven't blown on his hand for good luck!" So we went outside and caught him before we left...

XOXO
