Anatomy of a Move
We went down to ABQ this past week to finalize things down there.
"It's weird being back," I said to my husband. "We've been gone for 2 months already."
"Yeah," he said. "It's like going back to your exes' house to get back your T-shirt."
Anyway...I liked ABQ and could have seen us staying there. I'm SO THRILLED...beyond thrilled...to be back in Colorado, but still...always hard for me to say goodbye...we had some good times in this house...my kids were little in this house...
We had movers as part of Jeff's new job...they were AMAZING...so grateful to have their help. So it wasn't hard for us physically, but still, by the time we got home, we were exhausted...
The first day the house went from intact to boxes.
We were mostly there to answer questions, and tried to stay out of everyone's way. Bubs got some backyard playtime in. Daddy had everyone hide from the camera.
The second day things got put on the truck. This is John. He was AMAZING. Nicest guy ever.
An (unsuccessful) attempt at naps.
Zo's favorite stuffie, the one she cuddles in her arms as she goes to sleep--Lambekins--was accidentally packed. Which necessitated and emergency trip to Toys-R-Us for a replacement...hence, the appearance in our lives of "Bun Bun Sweetie" (named by Zo). Zo has been remarkably mellow about the whole "Lambekins is going on an adventure!" situation.
The house got emptier and emptier...until it was time to go.
John let Zo make BIG noise with the semi's horn. Luke didn't want to (he covered his ears and shook his head no), or he could have, too.
Bye, John!
Bye, stuff!
Bye, Lambekins!
See you in Steamboat sometime in July!
XO
