Books + magazines, January 2016

A few things currently on my bedside table:

  • Darling Magazine...love the positive messages in here and the photos of real women...so much more relevant to my life vs the big circulation glossy magazines. I love how it smells when it arrives, too. And I'm super psyched to try the Paleo-friendly recipes from Sweet Laurel Bakery inside (oh and I'm in love with Sweet Laurel's beautiful blog)...
  • The Paris Wife from the library...I'm about a third of the way into it and still undecided about how enthusiastic I am...but I haven't put it down yet, so...
  • Simple Abundance: A Daybook of Comfort and Joy: I first read this book as a young adult and tend to turn back to it from time to time...especially as the New Year begins...these little essays, one for each day of the year, feel particularly inspiring when everything's off to a fresh start
  • Poetry Magazine...love...I've been reading poems to the kids from this magazine while they're in the bath since they were itty bitty...which my husband thinks is ridiculous but I think Poetry is so important...and what's in here usually gets it right...
  • The House by the Sea, borrowed from my Mom over Thanksgiving and I'm reading it slowly and savoring, such beautiful sketches of life in Maine in the early '70s...

XOXO
