November/December
We cut down our own tree after Thanksgiving which was so fun…kids got their second COVID shot, Luke and I had another day on the mountain, snow is here, school performances, a trip to Ben and Jaimies’ an overnight to Denver for me to see Betsy and family and Chris and Matthew, Whovail is up and so cute.
Christmas is coming next week and then New Years…the focus for the rest of the year is family for sure, so grateful to be back where everyone can gather.
Happy Sunday!

November so far
I went to Hawaii to get Newton early November and never got back on track with the stuff I usually do like post pics. But Hawaii was wonderful, LA to Colorado road trip was great, we’ve been having fun in the snow and Luke and I got up on the slopes, Steamboat for Thanksgiving…it’s been a really cool month…
Halloween 2021
We had a Pikachu and a unicorn riding a unicorn this year…such fun! Parade at school and trick-or-treating in Minturn (the best!) and also Vail Village, I let the kids carve their own pumpkins this year and just generally a good time.
Happy Thursday!

A weekend with Grammy and Papa
We had such a fun weekend at Grammy and Papa’s this past weekend! Great meals and cards and the kids coded birthday cards and we saw a great movie together called “Rob’s Gone Wrong”…I have missed going to the movies so much! On the way home we hit the playground, had tacos at “El Tap” in Parachute, and unfortunately a long, slow inching through the damage at Glenwood Canyon. Such a fun trip, so glad we can just hop in the car and see my parents these days.

Fall break was fun!
We stayed home for Fall Break and had such a good time! Highlights included our first snow and checking out practically every playground in Vail.
Happy Wednesday!

Wednesday morning breakfast, fall hiking + Ski Haus
Happy Monday!
Nice week last week, including our new Wednesday morning tradition of hot chocolate and pastries before school in Vail Village, a beautiful fall hike that I cut short after seeing my second pile of fresh bear scat, and a weekend in Steamboat that included seasonal ski rentals for the kids at Ski Haus…kids even posed for me in front of the snowcat like old times…
This coming week is fall break so we should have lots of adventures to share next week!

Candy apples, playing in puddles + up in the gondola
Good times this past week with candy apples at Fuzziwigs on Friday after school, splashing in rain puddles in Vail Village, a gondola ride on the last day of operation before winter re-opening and Big Horn Park…best playground ever…

Aspens, hot chocolate before school + a lollipop with ants inside
A few more pics from the weekend we spent in Steamboat, including snow on our way home early Monday morning. Also the aspens are so incredible right now and we’ve been having some fun in Vail Village, including hot chocolates and pastries for breakfast Wednesday morning when school has a late start, sliding down the stair railing after meeting Daddy and Zo got a lollipop with ants in it on Friday and has been gleefully eating it. We also did a little drive last weekend and got Halloween costumes for the kids…Zo is going to be a unicorn riding a unicorn and Luke Pikachu. We’re starting to decorate a bit with pumpkins and leaves and other flora around the house and have started reading Harry Potter Book 4, which is a Halloween-time tradition for us (new book each year).
Lots of fun in our lives and lots and lots to be grateful for.

A trip to town, a field trip + a Steamboat hike
It’s so nice to be out of quarantine! While I was still in it walked every day and got a new stuffy from Zo each day as well. We had a nice outing to Vail Village my first day out, had a picnic with Ben and my parents, and we got the Jeep back yay! Last Friday the kids had a field trip to McCoy Fossil Beds and I got to go along as a chaperone…so fun! And this past weekend we went to Steamboat and one of the highlights was a hike with my friend Kristen and her 2 older boys…loved being up there…feels like home…
Happy Tuesday!

Quarantine dispatch #2
A full week isolated…hard not to have human contact and really missing Jeff and the kids but there is FaceTime. And Zo brining me a stuffie each day. And Jeff helping with everything without complaining or making me feel bad about it. And Luke calling me the minute he wakes up to say “I love you.”
The flip side of the hardness of being alone is I have been insanely productive with little projects and have a nice pile of finished work to show for it. Also grateful for the sunny, warm walks I’ve had. And most of all that my parents and I all seem to be pulling through this. It was scary at the beginning when I wasn’t sure what would happen.
In isolation ‘til Wednesday morning. Can’t wait to join the world again!
