2018 Father/Daughter Trip: Charleston and Savannah

What a wonderful, relaxing, special trip my dad and I took together last week. As he was saying to sum it up, we're good travel partners, have similar interests so traveling together is really great and wow, I just love spending time with my dad! So grateful to have this time every year.

Charleston was so charming, we walked around, did a city tour, I did a ghost tour ("too scary for me," my dad said), ate some great food. We also went to Ft. Sumter and spent an incredibly rainy day inside at the USS Yorktown and also toured a submarine.

Hilton Head...it was lovely to see the beach! And a fabulous oyster dinner.

Savannah we agreed was not as great as Charleston, but we still had a good time, my favorite parts were just walking around checking out the historic district and lunch at Mrs. Wilkes Kitchen...one of the top 5 meals of my life, it was incredible. I would go back to Savannah just to eat there.

We also met up with Jack and Leslie Painter and went to the 8th Air Force museum which I loved especially because of the personal stories that Jack was able to relay...he made the history come alive.

And at the tail end, 6 hours in the United Club in Chicago watching planes come and go and trying to outwit each other at Scrabble.

Not a thing I would change...

XO
