Grace in small things: Guggie rides the gondola edition
- So Zo was cranky this morning and I almost bailed on our plans to ride the gondola and hike because of it...but I'm so glad I didn't because we got a great picnic lunch from Crusiers and Zo wanted to bring her favorite stuffy--a pink pig she calls Guggie--and I was fine with that and we rode up on the gondola...so fun...and we walked the 1-mile nature trail in the rain and hail (first time hiking in the rain, and Zo was great about it), and then the rain cleared and we had our picnic on some rocks overlooking the valley...it was such a fun outing...a good reminder to me to persevere with fun plans despite whiny children...it would be different if they hated hiking once we were out there but almost always they have the best time...
- My husband taking over with Zo and having some great bonding time with her while I worked late...he is the best...
- Zo's pictures she drew for her Daddy today...
- Another walk this evening in the rain with Zo and our dog Newton...while she's been an "only child" we've been walking the dog together in the evenings...something I'd like to continue with the kids once I have them both again...also we both wore rain boots and splashed in every puddle we came across which was so spontaneous and fun...
- Snuggling Zo until she fell asleep even though it took a while...she's starting to be a little standoffish with me at times (e.g. when we were watching "My Little Pony" together this morning she wanted to be on the couch with me but not cuddled in my arms like normal) but at night she still always wants me close...
