8-year anniversary
Yesterday was our 8-year wedding anniversary, and, after my husband sent me out on a little hike while he took care of the kids (thanks, Babe!), we celebrated with margaritas at Salt & Lime and then curry at our new favorite place. Mellow and super fun. I'm very proud of the fact we've made it 8 years so far...and that we're really and truly happy together...

Grace in small things, October 11, 2016
- Pizza and Ms. Pac Man at Blue Sage tonight...kids are terrible at it (Pac Man) but they love it...they just shriek with delight, laugh like crazy...
- Warm-ish stormy on-again-off-again rainy day today...with black sky and dark dark billowy clouds at times...so pretty...and the rain was mostly off on my walks with the dog, which was nice...
- Making the kids pancakes first thing in the morning...and the snuggles and love that ensued...
- Our upstairs is looking so nice right now...I've been cleaning and organizing and hanging some things on the walls and we have a new sleeper sofa that I love...it feels so different, so much friendlier and cozier and "us" up there these days...
- We got Luke the book "Bulldog's Big Day" for last Christmas, it's a story about a bulldog trying to figure out what he should do for work and it turns out that it should be the thing he loves to do and is already good at. In the front there is an inscription to Luke from us that reads "Dear Luke, may you find your perfect place in life, just like Bulldog." I was reading it to him the other night, starting with the inscription, and he said, "Mommy, I've already found my perfect place in life--Steamboat." I love that the kids love it here so much. I love it too...

Luke's been climbing awfully high in trees lately...hard to find the balance between keeping him safe and letting him make his own way...
