1. Snowboarding first thing
2. Kids drawing on big pieces of butcher paper
3. Running-my-business tasks wrapped up for the year
4. Gingerbread cookies baked for the neighbors while Christmas carols played...delicious...this is going to become a yearly tradition, I'm sure...
5. Date night with my husband, super fun...and Bubs still awake when I got home, so got to snuggle with him...

1. New chore charts are working great...
2. Zo today, snuggled up on the couch with me: "I don't want to grow up! I want to stay 4 forever!" I would love that too...
3. Picking kids up from preschool today, their friends were using shovels and burying them from the waist down in snow...loved the laughter, they were having a great time...
4. Sweet potato and black bean stew for dinner...super yummy...Charlotte's been making dinner a lot lately and that's been a huge help to me...
5. Wrapping pretty much done, Christmas cards done...these next few days are looking pretty sane and really fun...

Grace in small things, December 21, 2016

1. One of Luke's favorite things to do these days is play with GarageBand on my phone...he is loving making music and I love seeing him fall in love with it...
2. Got the house back in some semblance of order today after returning from our trip...
3. Xmas party this morning with the kids...super fun...
4. Cuddled with Luke for a long while on the couch today, he'd been acting out all morning, not sure why but seemed to do better after he had gotten my full attention for a while...
5. It's been a really busy Christmas season despite me consciously trying to keep things easy...but I'm feeling like everything that is important to me is going to get done and done well...

Sis back home after vacation at Grammy and Papas

In which Little Bear (and I) have an unexpected adventure...

Little Bear got passed off to me by sweet Zo as I was headed into the airport for what was supposed to be a super quick trip, San Diego and back in 24 hours. 

Instead I got stuck in Denver (snowstorm, 300 flights cancelled), and then flown to Salt Lake and stuck there, back to Colorado a day later which is better than a lot of people were able to do so I'm grateful. It's been a while since I've had things go really wrong traveling. The lines, my gosh. And my suitcase is still lost (they made me gate check it in California...was on hold for 3 hours with United today only to be told I had to call Delta and they aren't even letting you talk to an agent they are so overwhelmed). 

I did meet some really interesting/funny people though. Heard some great stories. And my kids were in the best of hands with my parents. All of this is a first world problem anyway, right? And I did have Little Bear to keep me company (and make travelers around me laugh as I photographed her adventures to send back to my daughter)...

Hoping to make it back to Steamboat tomorrow, hopefully with all my possessions in tow but we'll see...

Dry roads for the most part and thus an easy trip to Junction Thursday, Charlie Brown Christmas playing on the DVD player for my little road trippers in the backseat…

1. Kids playing with the blocks that my brothers and I had as a child…
2. Nice walk with my mom in the afternoon…raining vs snowing in Junction vs Steamboat…nice change…
3. Christmas puppet show at the library, enjoyed by all…
4. There’s a story passed down from my grandfather that my mom likes to tell the kids it’s called the Moo Cow Moo…last night Luke and Zo wanted to act out the Moo Cow Moo with one of them being the kid curious about the cow and the other being the cow…hilarious…must get that on video…
5. Better Call Saul with my dad once the kids were down…
6. Luke with a nightmare in the middle of the night, came and snuggled up with me, fine once he was near and right back to sleep…

Grace in small things, December 14, 2016

1. MOPS steering meeting this morning...so grateful for all those women...
2. Christmas party at my husband's work tonight with bubble wrap for the kids! And we won a horse-drawn sleigh ride + dinner! Will be a super fun winter date night...
3. All packed and organized for my trip tomorrow...
4. Kids are having slumber parties again (sleeping in the same room) and tonight I sang song after song until they were both asleep...not often I'm with them until they fall asleep, it was lovely...
5. About to go join my husband on the porch...always one of the best parts of my day...
