Pajama hike, Steamboat edition
We used to get up early and go on "pajama hikes" in ABQ 1) because it was too hot to hike unless you went first thing, and 2) because I am terrible at getting people out of the house in a timely manner, and not having to get dressed hugely speeds up the process. This was our first pajama hike in Steamboat, up the ravine behind our house to this beautiful grove of aspens, grass tall, birds chirping. Kids are such good hikers and they took an AMAZING nap this afternoon...

Trail to downtown
We walked downtown Saturday for dinner and drinks on a newly discovered trail that starts close to our house and hooks up to the Core River Trail...so pretty...so lovely to be able to walk downtown...
No nap + a visit to the post office

Lamby-kins is back!
When we packed up our Albuquerque house, SIssy's favorite toy, Lambykins, got packed up by mistake, too. She's been remarkably mellow about it. (It helped that her Daddy got her a new stuffie, a kittie she named Bun-Bun Sweetie.
Well, we unpacked Lamby the other day, and he hasn't left Sissy's arms since. The smile on her face when she saw him was priceless. And wouldn't you know it, Lamby and Bun-Bun Sweetie are already best friends...

A Hike in the Ravine Behind Our House
We've got this amazing trail just a few steps from our house...so nice to have a hiking option that doesn't require a drive...
Meals on the River
Last Friday Jeff and I went for sushi on the river with Howlsen Hill back behind, the light beautiful. It was our first date night in months. The next day with Ben and Charlotte and the kids we sat at Sunpies and got the same view...with the added bonus of a train coming through...the kids were thrilled...
Little Construction Workers
We made chocolate chip cookies the other day for the construction crew working on the next block of town homes, as a thank you for their help in forklifting our huge couch into our house (the movers didn't think it would fit up the stairs, weren't sure how they were going to get it in unit the construction guys offered to help.) Luke and Zo wanted to dress up in their construction costumes before delivering the cookies...
