Kid Cuteness, November 10, 2015
Zo: "Mommy, don't talk to us, just keep your mouth shut!" (Where did she learn this?)
Luke: "Mommy, what's the part of the sky with the broken bits of stars called?
Me: "Um, the Milky Way?"
Luke: "Yeah."
Zo: "I'm an artist. Don't bother me while I'm painting!"
Luke: "There are no roads at the rodeo."
Luke and Zo, racing around the house when they should be getting ready for bed, laughing like crazy: "Mommy! We're running amok!!"
Zo at the playground: "I just have to go go go go go go go!"
Luke at the library cafe: "Mom, can we check out these fruit snacks?"
Luke anytime I ask him to do something he doesn't want to do, eg, leave the playground, go down for a nap: "No mom, negotiate! We have to negotiate!"
Zo: "I like hot pink. And cold pink."

Grace in Small Things, November 7, 2015
- Sis on the porch under the electric blanket at 25 degrees out this morning..."snug as a bug in a rug," she says...
- And, rocking on her rocking horse, at the tail end of her and Luke playing beautifully together and letting Mommy get some housework done
- Sledding for the first time in front of Daddy's hotel with Mommy pushing them from the top and Daddy catching them at the bottom...the kids loved it....
- A day completely off work...work has lately been seeping into all sorts of nooks and crannies...trying to draw some better boundaries...
- A big big big bright bright bright shooting star seen from the deck last night after the kids went down...I can't decide if the night sky has always been this cool and now with us sitting on the porch each night I'm just noticing it, or if you can really see more up here, so far away from cities...
- 17" snow mid-mountain the past 48 hours...and just 2 1/2 weeks 'til ski season begins...

Making soup at Daddy's hotel
The manager at one of the restaurants at Daddy's hotel brought out a wild assortment of ingredients (fruit loops, mustard, basil, grape jelly, etc) for the kids to make soup for Daddy to try when he joined us. So sweet. Daddy's still trying to come up with a good way to get back at her. :)

Pumpkin patch
I included this last pic because you can see the ski runs with snow in the background...so exciting...

Halloween costume preview
ALL the credit goes to my fabulous mother-in-law for these amazing costumes...
Grace in small things, October 19, 2015
- Sis spending a looooooong time today at the breakfast bar, making sure her rainbows for Grammy and Papa were just perfect
- Rain...lots of it...love it...
- Spagetti with homemade meat sauce for dinner...always feels good when I can get it together enough to get dinner from scratch on the table...more prep over the weekend like I did this past weekend seems to make a difference...
- The kids building "nests" with pillows and blankets in the living room chairs and on the stairs this morning...and the fact that we don't need to be anywhere, so there can be nest-building in PJs until 10:30 or 11:00 if we want...
- No nap = early-ish bedtime tonight (I hope!)

Grace in small things: weekend edition (October 18, 2015)
- I won tickets to see Todo Mundo Friday night, and took the kids, who were mesmerized (although we did have to leave early, they couldn't quite make it through the whole show). Great show. And before the show we saw a beautiful red fox up close and personal, he was just waltzing down the sidewalk. And, I found a sweet little grove where we let the kids run around and get some energy out...I want to take pictures of the kids in their Halloween costumes there next week...stay tuned...
- My husband taking the kids out and about while I worked...hate working on the weekend, but so appreciate that he helps...
- Fried oysters by the river at Sunpies...so warm yesterday, once again...and speaking of wildlife, our server said there was a bear in the bushes on the other side of the river that morning
- A great night's sleep last night...and finally feeling somewhat caught up in terms of my endless lists...
- An out-the-back-door hike with Sis this morning to Picnic Rock where the above picture was taken...many of the aspens look like this now...bare or with just a few leaves hanging on. It's raining this afternoon and I have french onion soup bubbling on the stove for dinner...love fall...life is good...

- Late afternoon errands with these cuties
- Sitting on the porch at Back Door Burgers for dinner this evening...it must be the last time we'll be able to do that before fall really hits...lol...
- The church bells ringing deep and melodic across the street
- A text from an ABQ friend that meant a lot...
- Sis and Bubs sliding down the fireman pole at the playground for the first time ever
- And speaking of athletic accomplishments...me ringing the bell at the top of the rope at Crossfit this morning...first time I've ever done it...
