- Easy trip down to Junction today, with "The Aristocats" on the DVD player for the kids...got to be one of my favorite Disney movies...love the music...
- Kids building with the blocks we built with as kids...
- Fresh lilacs in my room...reminds me of me being 4 myself, when we had lilac bushes in Marshdale...
- The smell of heavy rain...
- Kids thrilled with little dollar store treats (they each had a certificate from their birthday for 3 things)...and some super cute used clothes from Once Upon a Child...
- So great to see my parents...love them so much...

- Sweet waffle-bar-and-face-painting party for the kid's friend Meri's 4th birthday...she and her mommy and little sister are some of my favorite people in Steamboat...grateful to have them in our lives...
- Zo in her cute hot air balloon dress...reminds me of Albuquerque...
- Sitting on the windy porch with my husband mid-day, watching big birds (vultures?) play in the wind currents above our house
- Luke and Zo playing ninja football, which last night involved Sis dressing up in her costume wedding dress and the kids getting "married," which in their mind involves holding hands and dancing in circles laughing like crazy...
- Zo scratching my back and making up super cute little songs at bedtime...
- First sign of leaves last night outside of Carl's, after date night dinner with the kids...a rainbow too...

- First trip of the year to the "monkey playground." "Our climbing tree!" the kids exclaimed as soon as we got there. "It's missed us!"
- First rainbow of the year today, too...a very faint one, but definitely there...
- Big, drifty, slowly falling widely spaced snowflakes when I walked the dog first thing this morning...magical...
- My kids are eating so much better lately...I've really been struggling to get nutritious food into them but dinner tonight was another meal where they ate lots and lots of meat and veggies...
- "Magic" Paw Patrol bubble bath...the kids call it "magic" because of how much it foams up...they looooove their bubble baths...

- Cheerful little people running errands with me mid-day, including a trip to the city building to get car registrations updated...
- Learned (or maybe relearned?) a great new word today: interdigitated...
- And speaking of learning new things, I'm not sure exactly how it came up, but the kids have been learning lately about gasses, liquids, and solids...
- Starbucks and the local morning paper after a cold early-morning walk with my husband...
- Luke dancing naked on the coffee table upstairs before finally agreeing to put on his PJs for bed...had us laughing so hard...

- Luke and Zo playing "airplane" with Sis's new tennis shoes, transporting little cars inside them from the living room to the dining room and back again...
- Big patches of sunshine in the living room late in the day...it's soooooo cold outside...we're all soooooo ready for spring...
- My husband watching the kids so I could get some work done over the weekend...
- Laundry already done...
- Zo needing her bed just so before sleep...covers a certain way, stuffies a certain way, pillows a certain way, her stuffed lambs tucked in with their own pillow and blanket, fan on, nightlight on, bathroom light on...

- Luke refusing to nap, then falling asleep beside me on the couch while I worked (and Sis taking herself up to bed for a nap at the same time...)
- Winter is back...at least 6 inches of heavy wet snow when we woke up this morning an snowing hard...we played in it in the driveway this morning, kids were thrilled...
- Getting under Luke's blue-and-green patchwork quilt and pretending we were in a spaceship going to Mars...this is after we read a big stack of books cuddled up in Luke's bed, snow falling hard outside...
- My husband fixing Luke's remote controlled fire truck...he's so good about keeping things fixed around here...
- Kids are about to start a performance of "Ninja Football," which involves touchdowns and dugouts and time outs and cake and metals and trophies. It's pretty epic. :)

- Kids played with these "Pop-Arty" rainbow-colored snap-together plastic beads literally all day long. When they were first playing with them this morning, they kept making me little things and saying, "We're making you these things because we love you. You are silly and sweet and fun and we love you being our Mommy." All I could do was smile big, hug them tight...they are so cute times like these...
- Sis wanting her hair done "unicorn horn"-style this morning, with her bangs in a little ponytail sticking out front...
- Another lovely walk early this morning with my husband. Warmer each day. We picked up trash on the trail, so it's nicer. Lots of birds, I don't know birds but one with red wings and a little yellow one...and oh! I saw my first eagle here last week, and another one yesterday...
- First playground trip this year without the playground completely buried in snow...
- Once again, lots of work. (Which I'm very grateful for, but it's easy to get overwhelmed.) Once again, it's all getting done. I also had most of the day with the kids and got some housework done, cooked dinner...all those deadlines are going to get met...I most want to take good care of my family...and I am...

- Another lovely walk this morning...the warm sun feels so good as it comes up...
- Play date this morning with a bunch of local moms...I'm finding some people I really like up here...
- Kids napped...
- Lots of work these days but deadlines are getting met...and ski season is over, thank goodness...there's no way in good conscience I could go up on the mountain right now...too much going on...
- My children ate all their chicken and sweet potato and cauliflower at dinner...I always feel so much better when I get some good food into them...they are such picky eaters...

- Luke (with his fire truck) walking the dog with me in the very late afternoon light...love that light...used to be my favorite time of day to go surfing, so I could watch what the light did to the California hills...
- Taxes are done...yay...not too painful...
- Snow is melting...
- Projects are getting done...
- Lovely early morning walks yesterday and today...birds fluttering and chirping, snow melting, river swelled, smells like rain and spring...cool but not cold...and no moose sightings so far this week, knock on wood...

Pterodactyl babies
A popular game around here lately is getting under couch or chair cushions, which become eggs in which baby pterodactyls incubate and then when they're ready they hatch out and run around the living room flapping their little wings...too cute...
