Skis + the Snow Cat at Ski Haus

It's a tradition for us to rent skis for the season and spend some time "driving" the Snow Cat out front...kids love it...

Hard to believe the mountain's supposed to open in 23 days. Not a speck of snow at the moment, although it has snowed and melted a number of times. Everyone seems to feel like we're going to have a great season, though, including me...

Luke goes shopping with Mommy

There's a store I like in Steamboat that has a little play area for kids with a tent and play fire and sticks to roast marshmallows and hot dogs. I browsed and tried on clothes and then joined Bubs in the tent for a cookout...super fun...

Sunday river picnic

Love going to this spot with my husband and kids. The rocks here are so sparkly. The air smells so good. The warm sun was so nice. Luke was so cute, putting together little boats to float down the river to his Uncle Luke...

1. So cute how much my daughter loves her stuffies...
2. Luke is under the impression that I have holes in my jeans because that's where he and Sis popped out of me when they were born. He's said that before, and he mentioned it again today...too funny...I should probably clear that up, shouldn't I? ;)
3. Planning a little vacation with my sweet husband...so excited...
4. Frost sparkly everywhere when I took the dog out this morning, but another walk in warm sun this afternoon...I remember last year this time saying over and over again, "this is going to be the last warm day." Excited for snow and snowboarding but grateful for the warmth while we have it...
5. Hugs and snuggles all day long from the kids...I love, love, love having 4-year-olds...

1. Uh-oh...the kids have learned how to ask Siri for things... :)
2. Lovely time at MOPS this morning...especially loved laughing so hard over "Telephone Pictionary"...so grateful for the warmth and friendship and the things I've learned in this group...I've been learning a lot...
3. The kids walking the dog with me before lunch, and having the best time pelting me with slushy snowballs...love the laughter that goes along with these sorts of antics...
4. Drifty pretty snow on and off all day...loving it...
5. Electric blanket and stars and my husband waiting for me on the porch...

1. Playing "Sardines" this morning with these cutie-pies...we had the whole weekend with them and their Mama up here, so fun, LOVED LOVED LOVED having the three of them visit...
2. The almost-full moon early this morning, and working by candlelight, and then with my friend in the same room, sipping coffee together in our pajamas, putting together documents and emailing clients...wish that could happen more often...so fun not to be "virtual" for a morning...
3. Luke, playing with his new Lincoln Logs: "Mama! Look what I Lincoln-ed!"
4. Snow falling most of the day on the yellows and oranges of the leaves still not off the trees...
5. Kid help and moral support from my husband when work went late tonight...bless him...
6. Luke picking out stuffies for each person in the family to sleep with (yeah, yeah, he's procrastinating going to bed, but still it's still cute): Daddy = yeti, Mama = alligator, Sis = Spider Man, and for himself, the blue elephant...

1. Halloween costumes are coming together, thanks to the kids' fabulous grandma...love October and the big deal we make out of Halloween...
2. Zo insisting I sit with her this morning and watch a very glitter-y "Shimmer & Shine"...I usually work while the kids do cartoons, but was nice to just relax snuggled up with my girl...
3. Hot springs this morning with the kids...such luxury to have that in our backyard...
4. The cute "what color shirt was everyone wearing today?" tally the kids brought home from preschool...
5. Orthopedist today and I'm going to be getting a new brace for snowboarding...the old one worked pretty well but there was definitely some room for improvement so I'm psyched...
6. 5 HUGE moose on Fox Creek Trail at dusk seen from the car (that's the trail right next to our house), a couple with the huge horns...so fun to see, but I won't be taking the kids down there for a week or two!
7. Zo insisting she and Luke have a slumber party tonight...I love that they want to sleep together even though they don't have to...
