Great weekend with the STARS Mountain Challenge which was so amazing and we (kids and I) saw a gorgeous red fox and the kids had a sleepover where everyone actually slept and my husband's taking over dinners for a while (with me assisting) which is so great I soooooo appreciate his help and we've been getting all organized for the kids birthdays, feeling ahead of the game for once and I'm going to get all my Fitbit steps in this week for the first time in a while and also Zo has earned enough allowance money to buy the "Unicorn House" she's had her eye on so later we're going to go get that...pretty exciting to have her first allowance purchase happening...

Up super early (4:30 AM) this morning but good in that I got a ton of work done before the kids even woke up and then breakfast and ski school and errands and preschool and the sun was out today and Daddy made dinner (complete with ice-cold clementine Izzys for a treat) and we all snuggled up and watched Sarah and Duck after and the kids went down so easy this evening and whew, I really need some sleep...

- Giving Mommy her picture. [Of us driving down the road to the hot springs just us, he made it in preschool. I love it.]
- Playing with Paisley and everyone at preschool. [Paisley's his favorite friend at preschool.]
- Ice skating.
- Playing with Mama, and playing with Zoey.
- Loving on Mama.

- Friends from North Carolina came to visit today and ski with me and the kids...we had so much fun! Love skiing with friends...
- Snowy walk with the dog...glad winter is back for a little while...
- Working on planning the kids March birthday...fun...
- Date night...
- Our new porch blankets are so incredibly warm (plus we're putting the old, non working ones over them and that makes a big difference too)...love that it can be 10 degrees and we can still sit outside...

Almost a foot of powder, friends to ski and snowboard with first thing, daredevil kids to ski with later in the day, unbelievable beauty on the mountain, a quiet workday to balance out the crazy of the past 2 weeks, chile rellenos for dinner, naughty children that cheerfully cleaned up their (big) mess when asked, bedtime snuggles, warm blankets on a cold, cold night and my husband out on the porch waiting for me to join him...
Bliss...

- Skiing this morning with the kids...just love being on the mountain with them...they both wanted to do the half-pipe so we did that for the first time today...super fun...
- We got new electric blankets for the porch! They are sooooo soft and warm and pretty. My husband had a work dinner so the kids and I tried them out as the sun was setting, talking about the airplanes we saw and where they were going (although the kids insisted they were rocket ships), making a wish on the first star, reading "1 to 20, Animals Aplenty," which is one of my favorite books, the three of us snuggled in a chair under a toasty warm blanket...it was so nice...
- Luke and Zo tell me they're not getting married, they're going to stay together and not have kids but have pet bunnies instead. Oh and Zo will be a doctor. And an engineer. They've got their future all figured out... :)
- Snow flurries today...I think the snow is about to come back...so ready for a little more winter and a few more powder days...
- Charlotte helping when I needed help today...so appreciate her...

- Fun birthday celebration for and with Me-Ma today (a day late)...including the kids and I drawing and sticker-ing a pretty birthday tablecloth...
- Listening to my husband who told me trying to ski today would make my day insane...so I didn't and everything ran smoothly...
- Kids wanting soooo much to be with their Mommy...
- Zo insisting on wearing her superhero girls T-shirt because she was going to visit her Daddy at work...
- And, Zo got rain boots in the mail today for mud season...pink glitter with soles that light up when you walk...you should have seen her dance around in them, so happy...her rain boots from last year are too small and she was soooooo sad the other day when Luke wore rain boots and got to splash in puddles and she was in tennis shoes and I wouldn't let her...

Grace in small things, daredevil edition (February 20, 2017)
- Skiing with the kids again today...here's Luke taking a break to climb a little hill on the side of the trail. He started hitting every bump going around every tree he even went off a little jump and caught some air and then the next run Zo followed suit. "You guys are total daredevils," I said to them and after that they were like, "Mommy, can we go do some more daredevil stuff?" We did have a long talk today about how you always have to ski in control, however...oh and Luke totally wants to do the halfpipe next time we're out...I think I need to just set him loose with his cousin Bodie... :)
- Nice talk with my mom and dad today...miss them...
- Luke and Zo helping me to make guacamole for dinner...they mashed the avocados perfectly, sneaking bites along the way (which is great, the more vegetables I can get into them the better). Then they entertained themselves squeezing and drinking key lime juice for another half an hour...
- A work day where everything on the list got accomplished...the first time that's happened in a while...
- My husband teaching the kids about fire at dinner...they learn so much from him...
