Grace in small things, April 10, 2017

  1. A bike ride with the kids today while the car got washed...I love how they can turn anything--even bleachers--into something super fun...
  2. Uno with the kids, even though Luke threw a little fit when he didn't win...must work on being a good sport...
  3. A totally sane work week (knock on wood)
  4. Hot springs after dinner, so lovely, and a full moon and what I think is Jupiter right next to it on the way home...
  5. Luke in the sauna: "The sauna is like a clothes dryer, but for people!"

Elk herd

On an impromptu drive up the aptly named Elk River Road the other evening...we saw a herd of about 30 elk on the side of the road, stopped and sat and watched them...everything greening up and a little crick running and birds singing and everything smelling like spring...

Grace in small things, April 4, 2017

  1. Kids wearing bunny ears to the library and preschool--and hopping everywhere they went
  2. Luke: "Daddy, we made Play-doh in preschool today." Daddy: "Oh, home-made play-doh." Luke: "No, it was preschool-made."
  3. Getting to FaceTime with my dad as he jets off to Europe to hike the Camino. The Camino is something I very much want to do someday, maybe with the kids when they are older if they want or maybe when they go off to college...
  4. Sis: "Mew-choo! I'm a sneezing cat!"
  5. Kids have big plans to make a movie called "Esophagus!" It's hilarious. I'm trying to convince them that they should have a script before they start shooting but they're not having it...

Road trip

We went to visit Grammy and Papa this past week and had such a good time. The road trip down was great...we saw one big antelope with horns outside Craig and then this whole herd the Steamboat side of Meeker. We got out of the car and walked to get a closer look but they were pretty skittish... Fun to see them frolic.

"Where the deer and the antelope play, huh?" my dad said when we told him about it. "I bet you didn't hear a discouraging word."

The kids do great on road trips. The get to watch one movie each way (this time it was The Incredibles both ways) and the rest of the time we play the rainbow game where we find things of each color or the animal game where we try to get to 10 animals. We won it this time and here are the animals we got:

  1. Cow
  2. Sheep
  3. Horse
  4. Bird
  5. Goose
  6. Antelope
  7. Chipmunk
  8. Pigs
  9. Butterfly
  10. And I forget the last but we did get 10, I promise. :)
