Graduation party
There are so many pictures I wish I had of this day...most of all one of Bailee! And also all the early-morning prep and Jaimie's amazing family and how beautiful Ben and Jaimie's place looks...it seriously looks like a magazine spread...and Ben and Jaimie together and my mom and dad and all the kids bouncing on the trampoline and the big crowd that came to help Bailee celebrate...but I barely pulled my camera out...but regardless, it's a day I'll always remember for its warmth and camaraderie and friends and family and tons and tons and tons of love...
"How dare you!," "You ain't nothin' but a hound dog..." + Movers + graffiti
Oh boy a lot has been happening around here. Movers came today. Dog stuff has been submitted. (Taking a dog to Hawaii is no joke.) Plans have been made to get to LA. Work has been crazy. Grammy and Papa came to visit for Mother's Day and got to go to school with my kids Monday. Bailee's graduation is this weekend. Lots of life happening folks, lots of life...
A few things:
- Luke and Zo both saying "How dare you!" But not mad, more of with a giggle, eg, "How dare you not pack cookies in my lunch!" Papa taught them about double dog dare and Luke quickly upped that to a triple dog dare...
- We were reading a poem called "You ain't nothin' but a hedgehog," and I figured it would make sense for the kids to see where that came from so we watched Elvis Presley and since then Luke's been running around town singing, "You ain't nothin' but a hound dog..."
- Packers were so nice. One of them made this beautiful graffiti "Allen Family" on packing paper for me and I set it aside but couldn't find it after the chaos was over...meant to be ephemeral, I suppose...
- The greens of the trees are so green this spring...and it's warm...and the birds are singing...I just love, love, love this time of year...
- We're in some final stage of buying a house, I'm not sure exactly where but I think my husband gets keys tomorrow. It's so crazy!!!
