An original board game, everyone's so excited about Halloween + Sundays are for organizing
Luke had such fun inventing a game to play…and it was pretty fun as long as you’re OK with the rules continually shifting…
Over to Kahului today…we got some Halloween decorations, can’t wait to put them up!
Snorkeling wasn’t so great yesterday…the water was pretty full of floating sand particles…but I did see one of our turtles from land, and all four of us are going to go down to the beach shortly and try again…
Kids are upstairs playing so beautifully together…from the sounds of it they are playing “Battle Bots”…
Getting organized for the week…changing the sheets, doing the laundry, scheduling things on the calendar, we’ll food shop in a little while…kids will get a good shower and shampoo and fingernail trim…I like getting lots done on Sundays so we’re prepped for the week…
Hope your weekend has been lovely!

A day off, Zo loves decorating for holidays + local produce
Jeff’s helping tons with the kids today and I’ve gotten to hike and go check out the local surf shop and shortly I’m going to snorkel at our local beach…feels like a true day off, so lovely…
Zo especially is so excited about decorating for Halloween…
Slept in this morning which means 6:30 but still, that extra hour and a half was appreciated…
Dinner’s already made and in the fridge…
And speaking of food, mangos are incredible right now…I know there is a mango season here maybe it’s starting? I’m going to look it up…actually, the internet says mango season is winding down so I guess I need to enjoy them while they last! Pineapple and what they call sugar bananas which are small and really flavorful bananas (about half the size of those on the mainland) and local avocados are really good right now too…
Happy Saturday!

Newton, Bo-Bo + it doesn't feel like fall at all...
Love this old dog…
Zo’s been calling her brother “Bo-Bo…”
Kids are excited about Halloween decorations…seems so strange to be decorating for Halloween in what feels like mid-summer…
Zo says she had her favorite lunch today, “a really cheesy sandwich with turkey”
Luke’s favorite part of the day was “science”
Happy Tuesday!
Spelling word practice, jokes at dinner + Luke is writing a book
Luke quizzing his Sissy on their spelling words (which are on the back of each week’s home letter)…
Kids have decided to do a joint Halloween costume this year…
Burgers on the grill with mushrooms and onions and taro chips on the side tonight…on the mainland taro chips are exotic but here they are everywhere, and so yummy…
Loving having a dining room table (on the front porch) so much…we’ve all been telling jokes at dinner, which reminds me I need to come to dinner prepared…
Luke is making a little book in the car when we are driving to and fro…it’s got pictures and words and it’s pretty impressive…kids have both already advanced so much in first grade, it’s cool to see…
Happy Monday!

Sacred Hearts Jog-a-Thon 2018
First Jog-a-Thon was a great success! Luke ran 23 laps, Zo her goal of 20 (and then there were snacks so she stopped), I had fun volunteering, kids raised money for field trips and their class wish list (thanks Grandparents!). Good times…

Whole 30, a little kitchen table + what we're watching, reading, listening to...
Love these flowers in our yard…there’s lots of them to pick which is good as they only last a day or so…
1/3 of the way through a Whole 30 and feeling great. Have had some really strong workouts this week as well…
My husband was gone for part of the week but is back now…grateful to have him home…
We have a little kitchen table!! And chairs!! It’s so awesome to have a kitchen table!!
Really enjoying Better Call Saul with my husband…and I watched The Greatest Showman a few days ago with the kids and that was fantastic…and reading a book called Hotel Silence that is pretty great…and listening to the Biz Chix podcast which has been good to listen to…and Alexa’s classical music station which feels just right right now…so yeah, surrounded by lots of interesting and cool creations at the moment…
Happy Friday!

Walkie-talkies in the palms, this guy named Satan + a kiss to last all day
Walkie-talkie adventure with Sis in the palms yesterday…
Luke at dinner, very casually: “Today in school we learned about this guy named Satan…” Ah, Catholic school…
We are getting AC installed! It’s going to be about a month until it happens but I am soooooo excited!! We have wall units in the bedrooms but they are expensive to run and don’t work that great throughout the house. It’s so hot right now, I am so excited to have AC here…
Sis has been having a hard time saying goodbye to me at drop-off in the morning…we’ve taken to kissing each other’s palms so we have kisses all day…
Beach dinner and swimming and sunset tonight…can’t wait…
Happy Wednesday!
