Halloween 2018
A witch and a cat, a visit to the kids’ school by Grammy and Papa and I to help investigate little pumpkins, a trip to the aquarium, ghost bananas for breakfast and jack-o-lantern peppers for dinner (both of which the kids say should become a tradition), trick-or-treating at Hawaiian Homes where they did just a spectacular job for the families…it was a good Halloween…
Pumpkin patch, nicknames + boxes make the best toys
Pumpkin patch last weekend, such fun…
Luke and Zo have made up nicknames for each other, with Zo calling Luke “Bo-Bo” and Luke calling Zo “Fishy”…
I was cranky with the kids last week when I was trying to work and they needed my attention, which wasn’t their fault, of course they deserve my attention I shouldn’t have been working so I apologized and they were so quick to hug me and forgive…
My parents are here! We are having the best time! Love that they are visiting…
Got rock down to the east of the house yesterday, looks great. And Jeff cleaned the garage/my office, it looks soooooo much better. And he got a lawn mover and mowed the lawn, we’re making so much progress on our yard…
Amazing how many hours of fun a lawn mower box provides six-year-olds…
Happy Sunday!

Love from the kiddos, a good Saturday + surf and whales
Luke waking up early, coming downstairs, giving me a hug and saying, “I love you, Mommy.”
A day or two ago kids and I were talking for some reason (can’t remember why) about how mommies and daddies sometimes aren’t good mommies and daddies. To which both kids said, “But you’re a REALLY good mommy. And Daddy’s a REALLY good daddy.”
A super fun Saturday yesterday with breakfast with Daddy at Dukes (and then he had to stay back to be on call for work, we missed him), followed by a quick Target run for some fun stuff, the pumpkin patch, which was awesome, I’ll share some photos this coming week, and kids’ first birthday party here in Hawaii.
Big (head high) surf yesterday, fun to see. And the coconut wireless says the whales have started to appear, cannot wait to see one…
Currently obsessed with the Biz Chix podcast…
Happy Sunday!

Sorting, hiking, DMV-ing
Love our cute little town of Lahaina
Had parent teacher conferences and the kids are doing great :)
Kids had a sorting assignment for school where you as the adult pick some items around the home, start sorting them and the kids have to guess the sorting criteria. We have a pile of different colored pumpkins and gourds so that’s what I used and the kids loved the game, they took turns as the sorters too
Hard steep 3+ mile hike to a duck pond yesterday with the kids…not only did they do the whole thing no problem but they ran up the steepest parts and they had races up and down hills at the end because they still had energy. And on the back half of the hike Zo was the animal finder, Luke was the animal namer and I was the animal lover, channeling my inner hippy to send love to the snails, birds, butterflies, centipedes etc we came across…
Got a Hawaii driver’s license today! And the process wasn’t that bad…
Happy Friday!!

Raccoon cookies, portraits + travel dreams
“Raccoons are total thieves!” is something my kids jokingly say, and so fun to find these cookies at Starbucks yesterday…
Trying to get my personal TO DO list under control today…still searching for ways to stay on top of it vs it ending up with 20 or 30 or 50 items in there…
Zo drawing portraits of each person in the family…
Our backyard is starting to look so good! My husband’s led the charge to get it whipped into shape…
Got a travel book from the library today…would really like to plan an international trip for 2019…fun to dream…
