Picture book author currently looking for representation

Hi, I’m Kristen. I write picture books: heartfelt contemporary stories, whimsical adventures, and dreamlike folktales where the ordinary and magical intertwine. Based in Steamboat Springs, Colorado (“Ski Town USA”), I draw inspiration from the mountains, family traditions, and the small delights all around us.

My kids are teens now, but some of my favorite memories of them (and of my childhood as well) involve snuggling up together on the couch working our way through a stack of books. The authors/illustrators of those books made such an impact on our lives. My vision is to do the same: to put stories out into the world that parents and kids can bond over, be entertained by, and come away from better able to solve problems creatively, trust their own vision, and find joy in unexpected places.
