A "Friendship Party," heart-shaped fireworks + Du Iz Tak? and The Wolf, The Duck, and The Mouse
- Fun time in Luke and Zo's classroom this morning helping with their "Friendship Party"
- Charlotte helping me after school so I could get a little work done (since I'd missed my work morning being at school)...so appreciate her...
- Running into friends out at dinner...love living in a small town...
- Driving home from dinner we saw a big red heart glowing on one of the runs on the mountain...and then it started to move and I realized it was skiers with torches...so cool...and so we pulled over to watch the fireworks that always follow a torchlight parade...what an unexpected treat that all was. They had heart fireworks too which I'd never seen before...
- Kids got small bags of candy from Fuzzywigs and their current favorite books for Valentines (Du Iz Tak? and The Wolf, The Duck, and The Mouse), which we read cuddled up in bed...
- Got a work deadline pushed until tomorrow which means I don't have to work late at night tonight, so glad...
Happy Valentine's Day!!

Cute home-made valentines, first visit from the Tooth Fairy + 16/50 (powder day, yay!)

- The Tooth Fairy left Zo a silver dollar and a chocolate coin...which she was thrilled about...
- Powder day on the mountain yesterday, super fun...
- Quick library trip after school...
- Really enjoying yoga...and the kids rock climbing...when we were done yoga-ing today the kids were in the gym part of the climbing gym playing "Shipwreck." And Zo climbed for me...she is looking so good!

Zo lost her first tooth!!! + mug cake, homemade Valentines and a real snowstorm
- So last night Zo had trouble sleeping and came out to sit with me on the couch and had a paper towel and said her tooth was bleeding...and then when I picked her up at school this afternoon her teacher walked her out and Zo told me her news—she lost her first tooth at recess!! Her teacher took this picture and I am soooooo glad to have it. Big milestone! Luke is so excited for her too! Glad I helped the Tooth Fairy get prepared for this earlier today! :)
- Yoga this afternoon overlooking the snowstorm...
- We're kind of obsessed with mug cake at the moment...here is our recipe...
- Finished helping the kids make their valentines for their classroom...what a lot of work it was but they turned out super cute...
- Today's the first day all winter where I feel like the snow is exceeding the forecast...going to make it out for some powder after dropping the kids off in the morning...excited...
Happy Monday!

14/50, kids' first ski race + ridiculous excitement over the cousins coming
- Shortest day on the mountain ever--I wanted to do more than 2 short runs but Zo said, "We did what we came here to do, now let's go home." lol. What we came to do was the Soda Pop Slalom, the kids' first-ever ski race and I am ridiculously proud of them!! Zo especially because she was scared to do it but she did it anyway...way to go Zo-Zo! And also I love how Rainbow Dash came along on Luke's jacket...
- Good work day after not being able to work yesterday...
- Kids cannot wait to see their cousins! Zo made name cards for everyone to know where to sit for dinner and the kids made dinner for Bodie and Bailee while I was in the shower, which seems to consist of mashed bananas, apples, sprinkles and granola. (Sorry Bodie and Bailee!)
- Luke wanted to play in the water in the kitchen sink and I told him he could if he did a science experiment with it, so he wrote out his hypothesis and then tested it...he's so good at sounding out words and I'm loving that I'm getting to teach my kids the scientific method...
- We're about to get snowwwww!!! And I have nothing to do tomorrow except for kids and mountain and company I love...
Happy Weekend!

Screen printing is fun to watch, kiddie journals + the start of Winter Carnival
- Hot chocolate after school at Townies to plan our Winer Carnival activities...and a nice man named Luke who was screen printing sweatshirts let us watch and talked with us about the process...pretty cool...
- Ski jumps and s'mores and a drum circle and fire dancers at Howlsen last night...fun...
- Kids are writing/drawing pictures in journals in school...
- A little challenging with the time change but having nice long talks with my husband every day...
- Got the supplies for our Valentine's day craft that the kids and I are going to do...we're going to be making the cutest things!

Screen time, yoga with a view + talking on the phone while walking the dog in the snow
- Kids are so sweet with their screen time the past couple nights...they set their iPads up side by side and play the same game, laughing and checking in on and helping each other. Love what great friends they are...
- Luke lately: "Mommy, you're cute!"
- Amazing yoga class this afternoon before pick-up...we face windows that look out at the hills west of downtown...the view is so beautiful and today puffy white clouds and then a storm rolled in and whited out everything and was over in five minutes, and then sunshine all the while doing deep, slow stretches...bliss...
- Pictures of flamingos and koi from my husband for the kids...plus a new 808 phone number for him...
- A snowy walk with the dog after dinner (thanks to my mother-in-law for watching the kids for a little while) and a talk with Jaimie...so nice to talk to her and she and the cousins and maybe my brother as well are coming to visit this weekend! So happy!
- "The Runaway Pancake" and "Oh give me a home, where the buffalo roam..." and snuggles before the kids fell asleep promptly at 8 PM. I really should work so I can snowboard in the morning guilt-free but I just don't have it in me tonight. I will focus after a short-ish time on the mountain (email and phone off etc.) and get my work done tomorrow before pick-up...
