Steamboat, Evergreen Rodeo Parade + Ben and Jaimie's
Back in Steamboat with Zo this week, it is so beautiful here and we have been having lots of fun getting outside. Also went over to Ben and Jaimie’s for Father’s Day weekend, my parents came over with Luke and Bodie and Bailee were there, it was so amazing. Also the monster truck in the Evergreen parade was awesome.
Happy Wednesday!

Flying to the mainland, reunited with Grover + Four Season Vail
We flew to Colorado last week and spent the week in Grand Junction. So great to see my parents again! And Grover was there to welcome Miss Zo. A couple highlights included Canyon View playground and tubing in the lazy river…so fun! Luke stayed behind for science camp, but Zo came with us to the Four Seasons, where Jeff interviewed Sunday/Monday while Zo and I swam in the pool and got lost in the huge suite they gave us. After we headed to Steamboat to see Me-Ma. It’s been so wonderful to be here!

Friends, surf, library + birds
Very social week for us this past week, such fun. Want this to be a summer of connection. Kids also got to choose what we did for a few hours one afternoon and they chose the library and the birds. And I surfed almost every day this week, surf has been so good and it makes me feel so good to go.
Happy Tuesday!

Memorial Day picnic
We went on a picnic on Haleakala today with our friends Jon and Jo and Jo’s son Josh and had the best time with incredible views, good food, Zo found a ladybug that was happy to hang out with her and the kids had so much fun with their dad. It was a great day.

Last day of third grade
Last day of school was Friday. Kids did so great in third grade! We celebrated with milkshakes and dinner at Cool Cats and then went to the drive-through parade with signs the kids made thanking the teachers. Love our little school here on Maui, Sacred Hearts has been so great for us.

Records, books, birds + ice cream
A pretty quiet week around here, but nice:
Got some books in the mail from Papa and Zo sat down and read them all right away (we also signed up for the summer reading program starting June 1)
Our friend Felix left his record player here and we have been enjoying that
Kids have been joining me in the garage office to do work or pick out books
We’ve been eating out on the porch, we also looked at allowance yesterday, they are such great savers
Yesterday we also did haircuts followed by ice cream followed by our first trip to the library since COVID started (yay)! Followed by a trip to the shop with Pumpkin, who wasn’t there but there were other birds to entertain the kids
Last week of school this coming week and then Colorado after that. Can’t wait for summer!

Lanai'i
Jeff and I took a trip last weekend to Lanai’i with our good friends Jon and Jo. We flew over as the ferry’s not running the days we needed. We stayed at “The Artist’s House,” cooked there, went to Hotel Lanai’i for dinner, saw Shipwreck Beach, Garden of the Gods, went to Palihoa beach to snorkel and sunbathe, sunset at the harbor, the cat sanctuary. Such a lovely time.

Heart surgery, horses, Teacher Appreciation + a great Mother's Day
It’s been an unusual and then totally normal couple weeks:
My dad had heart surgery, so grateful I was able to be in Grand Junction with him and my mom. He’s home now and getting better each day which is wonderful
Jeff and I got our second Covid shot and were both pretty sick the next day but it was fine aside from that
There are some new ducks at the duck pond!
We decorated the 3rd grade teacher’s door for Teacher Appreciation Week…the whole family helped, it was fun
We’re still doing dinner delivery and kids night Thursdays. Word is out in the neighborhood that Thursday night is “do whatever you want night” at our household haha
Zo is doing horseback riding lessons once a week and liking it a lot
There’s a big crane in town as they are expanding the harbor. We went by it to go to the library which has just opened back up (although the day we went it was closing for lunch when we stopped by so we’ll have to try another time)
Yesterday was Mother’s Day and we did a small gathering at John and Jo’s for Mother’s Day and Jo’s niece’s 2nd birthday…with a beautiful lilikoi cake shaped as a plumeria…it was a fun afternoon. The kids and Jeff also spoiled me with french press coffee and gifts at 6 AM as a little celebration before I met friends to surf some great waves at Guardrails. It was a good day.
Happy Monday!!

Grand Junction
Grand Junction this week and haven’t really felt like taking pictures…here are a few snapshots from our many walks. It’s been wonderful to have some time with my parents and Ben and Jaimie. Heart surgery today all is well so far…
Airports, Colorado + the Blueberry Pancake Flapper
Only a few pictures this week but nice week, lots of family time and Friday night I flew to Colorado for a visit. First flight in 2 years and the airports weren’t bad, travel was easy. It’s been wonderful being with my parents and being out in the fresh Colorado spring air! We’ve been walking/hiking (including the “Blueberry pancake flapper”) and relaxing. I’m working this week but I’m sure we’ll sneak some adventures in too.
Happy Monday!
